The third annual Art in the Garden event last Sunday, August 9 was quite a memorable afternoon filled with wonderful art, music, food and friends.
We kicked off the event with the folky sound of Kent County String Band playing at the base of the staircase at the ICCF building, facing the gorgeous flowers, artists and attendees enjoying the event. While the music played, attendees had the chance to browse tables adorned with some really neat works by local artists.
The West Michigan artists presented a variety of art, from photography, to jewelry, and even fun items like hula hoops. The kiddos also had fun with a painting and crafting station where they even got to display their paintings afterwards.
After the Kent County String Band finished their performance around 4 pm, Bri O’Neal, hostess at The Green Well and one of the event vendors, taught kids how to hula hoop. Her handmade hula hoops were on display and for sale at Art in the Garden, as well as other handmade items under her brand Foraged Findings.
Matt Gabriel Music performed during the last couple hours of the event. His beautiful acoustic sound was the perfect way to end a relaxing Sunday afternoon spent in the gardens. The patio diners at The Green Well enjoyed the free, live entertainment, as well!
Thank you to all those who attended the event. We look forward to seeing you again next summer!
